Benefits
Membership in UPE is the highest honor that a student in the computer and information sciences can receive. Members receive a free one-year membership to the Association for Computing Machinery and students are eligible for various scholarships.
Costs
Cost of membership is a total of $60.00, including the following:
- $50.00 national initiation fee (includes UPE pin)
- $10.00 local lifetime membership fee for new members
Requirements
Eligibility is open to the following:
- Undergraduate students majoring in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
- Junior status with 3.00 GPA overall
- 18 credits of COSC/CIS coursework with 3.14 GPA in major
- Undergraduate students with a minor in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
- Junior status with 3.00 GPA overall
- 12 credits of COSC/CIS coursework with 3.14 GPA in major
- Graduate students in Computer Science or Applied Information Technology
- 15 credits of COSC/AIT coursework with 3.50 GPA in major
- All COSC faculty
