Leeds Metropolitan University (LMU) is one of the most popular and largest universities in the UK with over 29,000 students. Leeds Met has a vibrant and growing international community with over 4,000 international students from over 120 countries.
LMU has two academic campuses. Headingley Campus is less than three miles from the city center and just ten minutes’ walk from one of the best known student areas in the country. Headingley - with its countless bars, pubs and restaurants, is a great place to meet friends between lectures. The campus is set in 100 acres of beautiful parkland and home to a number of historic buildings. City Campus is right in the heart of Leeds, with some of the best
shopping and nightlife in the country less than a five-minute walk away. City Campus is home to Broadcasting Place - voted best tall building in the world in 2010!
The City of Leeds has been named the UK ’s favorite city (Traveller Magazine) and voted 'the best university destination' by The Independent newspaper. Home to 750,000 residents and one of the largest student populations outside London, Leeds is a vibrant, multicultural thriving hub. The cost of living is much lower
than in London and other UK cities and shops and restaurants will offer you a
discount if you show your Leeds Metropolitan Students' Union card.
Leeds is very friendly, and although it’s a large city, there’s a real community feel. LMU takes the safety of its students seriously, and partners with a local taxi firm so you can be sure you will always be able to get home. If you're interested in exploring the UK during your time in Leeds, London is
only two hours away, and Edinburgh is just three hours away. The city has
excellent train and bus links, and Leeds Bradford Airport has regular flights to
many international destinations.
