Napier University
Napier University is located in Edinburgh - Scotland's capital and one of the UK’s most student-friendly
cities. Participants studying at Napier University through the TU UK-Direct program will have the opportunity to further their studies while experiencing the extensive culture Edinburgh has to offer.
Napier is a modern and vibrant university that offers over
300 undergraduate and postgraduate programs and is renowned for its friendly environment. The traditional
four-year Scottish degree structure offers more flexibility in
choosing classes than at universities in the rest of the UK.
Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital - a city that blends the ancient with the modern. Cobbled streets and medieval backdrops merge with new developments like the Parliament Building. If you prefer open spaces, around 50% of Edinburgh is parkland.
The city is home to around 100,000
students. Four universities
and three colleges in the city make it a
hub of student activity and the base of new experiences. From art galleries to hip-hop clubs, from the beaches to the castles and from your local chip shop to flamboyant tapas restaurants, you’re spoilt for choice.
The 2003 MTV Europe awards were held in Edinburgh and the city
hosts the biggest Hogmanay party each year and The
Edinburgh Festival (a world renowned month-long
celebration of arts and performances). The city is also home
to Scottish Parliament and Holyrood House. There are many
other opportunities such as the Film
Festival,
several international festivals, the Jazz Festival, Military
Tattoo, Book Festival, various comedy clubs and over 50
cinema screens showing everything from European Film Noir to
the latest blockbuster. The Scottish Ballet and Scottish
Opera are frequent visitors and music lovers will be able
to choose from a huge range of events from classical concerts
to big name bands. A wide range of the public galleries and
museums offer free entry to many of the collections.
