TU Sogang University Summer School, Korea
June 23 - August 2, 2008
Spend six weeks studying Korean Studies and Korean language at Sogang University this summer. The Sogang University Summer School provides
students a unique
opportunity to achieve a better understanding
of the various aspects of Korean culture.
All participants will have a chance to
learn about traditional and current Korean life styles,
including Korea's historical and
religious background, political tensions with
North Korea, economic issues etc.
Sogang University is located in the South Korean capital city of Seoul. With over ten million people living within its city limits, Seoul is one of
the largest and most densely populated cities in the world. The city is the country's political, cultural, and economic center, as well as
an international business center, and is considered one of the top 20 "world-class cities".
Course: Students choose one or two 3-credit courses in Korean Studies. All participants also enroll in a mandatory 3-credit Korean language class. No previous knowledge of the Korean language is required.
All classes include weekly field trips. Program highlights include an optional 3-day field trip, cultural visits, and other extracurricular activities such as Taekwondo, Calligraphy, and sword training. Click here to view the list of available courses.

Housing: Students live in the on-campus dormitory and can request to be placed with a Sogang
University roommate. For those who want to experience the Korean domestic lifestyle, opportunities may be provided to visit a local Korean family and stay with them for a weekend.

Application Process: Fill out the TU Sogang University Summer School Application Form (PDF) and submit it to the TU Study Abroad Office. $250 deposit required at time of application.
Non-TU undergraduate students must also submit a completed Non-Degree Enrollment Application (PDF). Non-TU graduate students must also submit an Application for Graduate School (PDF).
