Study Abroad Pre-departure Information for Parents and Guardians

REQUIRED FORMS

1. Study Abroad Confirmation Form

After the student completes and returns this form to the TU Study Abroad Office, the Study Abroad Office will register the student for study abroad. We cannot register a student until we receive this form.

The exact number of credits and the corresponding grades achieved in each course will be posted only upon completion of the studies overseas. Initially, students will be registered using a generic code indicating 12 credits for a full semester and 6 credits for the summer or for the minimester.

Students participating in TU Summer & Minimester Faculty-Led programs are not required to complete this form.

2. Medical Self-Assessment And Release Form

This form is in case of emergency only.

3. TU Study Abroad Course Form

The TU Study Abroad Course Form must be completed and submitted to the Study Abroad Office prior to departure. Failure to do so may result in the delay or failure of posting courses and grades from the host institution to the Towson University record.

Students participating on the USM Program in Rome or TU Summer & Minimester Faculty-Led programs are not required to complete this form.

4. Agreement and Waiver of Claims

All study abroad students are required to complete, sign and submit the Agreement and Waiver of Claims Form, which releases TU from liability. We recommend that students read the form completely and address any questions or concerns to the Study Abroad Office.
