International Student Exchange

Payment Information

All international students who wish to study in the U.S. must demonstrate the ability to afford all education and living expenses. Students participating in the TU International Student Exchange Program must submit proof of financial ability for the total amount shown below.

The following are estimated costs (in US dollars) for students participating in the TU International Student Exchange program during the 2009-10 academic year:

  • Additional expenses will be incurred dui ring the Winter and/or Summer breaks.

  • Students participating in the direct exchange program are not required to pay tuition or regular university fees at Towson University.

  • Housing costs are not covered by the TU Partner Exchange agreement. For information on housing options and costs click here. Students who choose to live on-campus must submit a deposit of $350 prior to arrival. The balance of the housing charge will be billed to the student's TU account and must be paid by the payment deadline prior to arrival.

  • Meal costs are not included in the TU Partner Exchange agreement. For information on meal plans click here. Students who choose to live on-campus are required to purchase a meal plan. Students will be automatically enrolled in the 10 meals per week Restricted Plan but may upgrade upon arrival. Meal plan charges will be billed to the student's TU account and must be paid by the payment deadline prior to arrival. Students who choose to live off-campus are not eligible to enroll in a meal plan.
  • All exchange students will be automatically enrolled in the TU health insurance policy, unless they prove they have comparable health insurance and submit a Health Insurance Waiver Form. The TU health insurance fee is automatically billed to the TU student’s account each semester they attend TU and must be paid by the payment deadline.
