Orientation
TU offers a full week of activities for new international students before classes begin. Please see Planning Your Departure Date for Exchange Students for a description of all the activities we have planned for your academic, cultural, and social orientation to life at Towson University. Some sessions are mandatory.
Click here for information about Optional Services and Social Events for Exchange Students. To participate in any of the ISSO optional events complete and submit the Reservation Form for Exchange Students to the TU Study Abroad Office prior to arrival via fax (410-704-4703) or mail.
International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO)
Once you arrive in the United States please consult the TU International Student and Scholar Office. if you have any questions or concerns. The ISSO provides assistance in the following areas:
- visa applications and immigration related matters
- cross-cultural orientation and adjustment
- mediation of cross-cultural misunderstanding
- success in the U.S. academic environment
- understanding and following University regulations
- using University services
- complying with federal law concerning temporary-visa holders
- referrals to community resources
- requests from the community for contact with TU's international population
- emergency situations involving international students or scholars
