University Union, PAWS Lounge

Get excited for this year's Presidential Elections by stopping by PAWS for two fascinating political documentaries.

 6 PM: "18 in '08"
18 in '08 is a nonpartisan documentary
film and movement targeting today’s 17 to 24-year-olds, many of whom will be voting in their first presidential election in 2008. Made by 18-year-old Director David D. Burstein, “18 in ’08” features interviews with many of the most influential politicians of today, as well as figures from pop culture, political activists, media commentators, student leaders and young people. (35 minutes)

6:45 PM: “50-50: The American Divide”
This film is a documentary about why people vote and why they don’t vote, shot during the 2004 presidential election. The creators of the film set out to find a divided America but instead found an electorate “more intelligent, more passionate about the political process, and more reasonably centrist than the media were reporting.”  (83 minutes)
