OFFICE OF STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Division of Student Affairs
The Office of Student Activities compliments the mission of the university by creating involvement opportunities and environments that inspire students to become active members of the campus and community. Working in collaboration with faculty and staff, student activities staff offer a wide array of educational, cultural, social, and recreational programming that fosters student learning and development. Areas of responsibility for the office include: leadership development, Greek-letter organizations, commuter student services, non-traditional student services, campus programming, service and volunteerism, and student organization assistance.
Why do we promote and
encourage involvement?
-
Chances to
meet new people - more likely to remember the people
in your organization than your classmates
-
Develop leadership skills - including teamwork,
organization, and time management, event planning
-
Chances to
stay on campus - you won’t get the full college
experience if you go home right after class
-
Find
activities that compliment your major - there’s a
club for almost every program on campus
-
Earn
better grades - students involved for at least 15
hours/week are more organized
and can prioritize time better
-
Build
your resume - employers are interested in well-rounded
students, not those with only academic achievements
-
Students
pay $68 per semester for student events – you might as well
use that money!
-
HAVE
FUN! When you look back at your college experience, you’ll remember what you did at night and on the
weekends more than anything else
