Bio

Heather Gautney recently completed her Ph.D. at the City University of New York Graduate Center in the Department of Sociology, on a dissertation entitled “The World Social Forum: From Protest to Political Organization.” She is co-editor (with Stanley Aronowitz) of Implicating Empire: Globalization and Resistance in the 21^st Century (Basic Books, 2002). Areas of interest include globalization, social movements and political and social theory.
