Whitney Garcia joined the Towson faculty in 1995. Her teaching interests include sociological theory, sociological analysis, research methods, and political sociology. Her research examines social policy (esp. policy mechanisms which enhance the visibility of non-market resources), economy and society (esp. qualitative economic indicators of societal health). Whitney's dissertation develops a model for evaluating and guiding breast feeding policy.
