Michael A. Elliott received his Ph.D. in sociology from Emory University in 2008.  He teaches courses on sociological theory, political sociology, global change, and introduction to sociology.  His current research interests include the global expansion and implementation of human rights, the development of UNESCO’s world cultural heritage project, and the relationship between monastic asceticism and the rationalization of beer making techniques in the middle ages.  For the sake of his research, Dr. Elliott continuously seeks to improve his amateur homebrewing skills.
