Dangling Modifiers - Exercise 3 

Rewrite the following sentences to repair any dangling modifiers.  Type your new sentences in the text boxes given. When you are finished, click on the "Check My Work" button at the bottom of the page to view the correct answers.

1.  To succeed in school, classes should be attended.

      

2.  After playing soccer all afternoon, Tim's ankle felt sore.

     

3. Driving over the speed limit, our car was spotted by the police.

     

4.  Crowded in the living room, the atmosphere was stifling.

    

5.  After working on the math problems for hours, Jim's back ached.

    

6.  At the age of five, my dad taught me about cars.

  

7.  To placate the boss, her report was turned in early.

    

8.  By watching my diet, excess weight can be avoided.

   

9.  After learning sign language, our communication was much easier.

     

10.  Bothered by the loud music next door, Jill's work could not be done.
