Course Title: Case Studies in Database Management Systems

Prerequisite: AIT 732

 

 

Course Description: Real-world projects dealing with the issues related to development, management and maintenance of large-scaled database systems; emphasis is on the distributed database systems and related security issues.

 

 

Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course students should:

 

1.                  be able to design and implement distributed database systems;

 

2.                  understand the issues involved in managing database systems;

 

3.                  understand the security issues concerning distributed database systems;

 

4.                  understand and be able to predict cost, schedule and resource requirements for developing and maintaining a large-scaled database system.
