Course Title:  Database Management Systems

Prerequisite:  AIT 500 and 600

 

 

Course Description: Study of database management system fundamentals, data models, design, implementation and processing. Most popular database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, and Access are used throughout the course to illustrate design and implementation of real world database applications and processing.

 

 

Course Objectives:

 

The student should understand:

 

1.         database applications

2.         data models and emerging object models

4.         the basic concepts of database design and implementation

5.                  the purpose of each of the main components of database systems

6.                  database programming and associated tools

7.                  design and implementation of Web-based database applications.
