Course Title: Advanced Topics in Software Engineering

Credit Hours:            3

Prerequisite: AIT 624

 

 

Course Description: Formal processes leading to developing information system design requirements and specifications; quantitative measures of software attributes including: software cost and schedule estimation; human factors; test and integration; reliability, real-time software; quality assurance; and their contributions to a successful software development cycle.  

 

 

Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course students should be able:

 

1.         to explore those software attributes that can be quantified and used as metrics in the treatment of software products; 

2.         to use software reliability models, software resource estimation models and schedule estimation and planning models;

3.         to perform economic justification studies and strategies;  and

4.         to use software metrics as an effective tool for technical management of a software project.
