Course Title: Fundamentals of Web Technologies and Development

Credit Hours:            3

Prerequisite: AIT 600

 

 

Course Description: Introduction to HTTP protocol, dynamic HTML, and common gateway interface (CGI) programming. Study and practice of object-oriented programming concepts using Java. Design and implementation of application software including graphical user interfaces (GUIs); concurrent and distributed programming, distributed information systems, server architectures, database connectivity, and the enterprise packages provided by the Java programming language.

 

 

Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course students should:

 

1.         Comprehend the Java programming language specifically its use in client-server programming, and what is provided by its enterprise packages.

 

2.         Become proficient in the use of the core Java programming language.

 

3.         Be able to design reusable software component.

 

4.         Understand distributed object computing models.

 

5.         Understand security issues related to the WWW.
