AIT 600: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE

Credit Hrs: 3

Contact Hrs: 4 (3 lecture hours and 1 lab hours)

Prerequisite: AIT 500 and 501 or equivalent

 

Course Description: A discussion of information systems architectures including software systems, hardware, operating systems, data bases, object-oriented technology, networking, and enterprise-wide systems. Discussion of emerging technologies.

 

Course Objectives: Up on completion of this course students should:

  1. be able to effectively use information systems in their area of responsibility.
  2. be able to participate in the development of an information system.
  3. have a clear understanding of the use/impact of information systems in/on business.
  4. have an understanding of economical, managerial and social effects of information technology.
  5. be prepared to cope with technology-driven information systems.
  6. be able to understand the complete infrastructure required for successful information systems
