The Department of Early Childhood Education seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor.
Position:
Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of English Language Learners, literacy, children’s writing, technology, assessment and critical perspectives in child development and research methods. The position also involves scholarship, grant/contract efforts, participation and facilitation of Professional Development School partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have knowledge of diverse and inclusive schools, communities, curriculum and experience integrating literacy, reading, and children’s writing and an understanding of diversity of children and families, including ability and home language. Prior teaching experience and/or professional background focused on pre-primary and primary aged children (birth to 8, infancy -3rd grades) as well as children with special needs desired. A doctorate in early childhood or a related field is required. ABDs may apply if all requirements for the degree will be completed within six months of starting the position. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
The Department:
The programs in the Department of Early Childhood Education have received Nationally Recognized decisions by NAEYC. There are nearly 400 undergraduates and 200 graduate students in the Early Childhood programs.
