The Department of Educational Technology and Literacy invites applications for Assistant Professor in the Reading Education program.

 

Position:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate courses in literacy at the university and in off-campus centers for graduate students and in-service teachers. The courses include clinical practica, assessment, and instruction. Other courses could specifically be geared to assisting Second Language Learners, integrating technology, or new literacies.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Doctorate in Education and significant experience as a reading specialist in public school settings are necessary qualifications. Applicants must have excellent human relations skills, demonstrated competency in research and educational technology, successful public school or higher education teaching, and an enthusiasm for literacy education from Pre-K through adult. ABDs may apply if all requirements for the degree will be completed within six months of starting the position. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
