The College of Education at Towson University invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Instructional Leadership & Professional Development.

 

Position:

The successful candidate will be expected to make significant contributions to the College of Education’s mission and goals through (1) excellent teaching and advising of graduate students on campus, at regional higher education centers, and online; (2) developing and reaching milestones toward a program of scholarship and research that reflects the mission and goals of the Towson 2016 plan; (3) significant service to the department by taking leadership responsibilities for enhancing programmatic offerings as well as serving on college and university committees.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Leadership/P-12 Administration, Curriculum and Teaching, Professional Development, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years experience as a P-12 teacher and/or school administrator. Additional qualifications include teaching experience at the graduate level, background in grant writing and administration, and instructional design for online learning. Special consideration will be given to applicants with backgrounds in classroom assessment, outcomes based learning, and/or teacher evaluation. ABDs may apply if all requirements for the degree will be completed within six months of starting the position. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

The Department:

The department includes an accomplished and distinguished faculty of scholar-practitioners that serve the educational leadership needs of the greater metropolitan Baltimore area through partnerships with local school districts. The department offers graduate degree programs in Educational Leadership and Organizational Change leading towards Administrator I (building level) state certification. Programs are offered on the Towson University main campus, at regional higher education centers, and online.
