Towson University is inviting applications for three full time 10-month tenure track faculty positions at the assistant/associate professor level beginning August of 2012.
The Position
Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate instruction; academic advising; scholarly research activities; and university and community service.
Requirements
An earned doctoral degree with a research component (i.e., PhD or EdD) is required. ABD candidates are eligible but appointment will be at the instructor rank. All degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2013. Applicants are required to have a master’s degree in nursing with expertise in the respective specialty areas. Applicants with expertise in these areas will be given preference: Maternal-Child and Women’s Health, Community Health, and Adult Health. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Maryland is required. Salary is commensurate with degree and experience. Two years of recent experience in teaching and/or practice related to the candidate’s clinical specialty is preferred.
The Department
The Department of Nursing is CCNE accredited with approximately 325 undergraduate students. The department offers master’s programs in nursing education and nursing administration. There are currently over 100 students enrolled in graduate studies. Post-baccalaureate/post- master’s certificates in nursing education are available. The Department of Nursing offers the baccalaureate and master’s degrees at the Hagerstown campus. This is a regional center that provides undergraduate and graduate programs from the respective universities within the University System of Maryland.
