The Department of Audiology, Speech Language Pathology & Deaf Studies at Towson University invites applications for a full time 10 month tenure track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level beginning August 15, 2012.

Position responsibilities
Primarily doctoral level class instruction, scholarly research activities, supervision of Au.D. student thesis projects, academic advising, and university, community, or professional service. In addition, responsibilities may include supervision of clinical services, and mentoring writing abilities in undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications
Applicants with expertise in the following areas will be given preference: aural rehabilitation, vestibular diagnosis and rehabilitation, and/or anatomy and physiology of the central auditory system. However, other areas of specialization will also be considered. Requirements: Ph. D. in audiology (A.B.D. candidates are eligible but all degree requirements must be completed by Feb 1, 2013); certification as an Audiologist and eligible for Maryland licensure. Proficiency in American Sign Language is not required, but any level of ASL ability will be viewed positively.

Appointment

Tenure-track appointment for the 2012-2013 academic year.Salary is commensurate with degree and experience. This position is contingent on availability of funds at the time of hire.

The Department of Audiology, Speech Language Pathology and Deaf Studies currently has 24 full-time faculty who teach over 300 undergraduate majors across two baccalaureate degree programs: Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, and Deaf Studies. The department’s graduate programs enroll over 90 students in the master’s degree program in Speech Language Pathology, and over 40 students in an Audiology clinical doctorate program.
