The Officers’ Duties on the NSA Board

·           President ­Chief-executive officer. Presides over meetings, provides leadership to the organization, chairs the by-laws committee and serves as liaison to the SGA, provides leadership for Community Project(s) by appointing Community Project Chairperson, and keeps lines of communication open intra-organizationally with the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) and the Maryland Association of Nursing Students (MANS).

·           Vice-President ­ Acts in the absence of the President, Chairperson of the Program Committee and Social Activities Committee, and schedules speakers for meetings.

·           Treasurer ­ Keeps the books for TU's NSA (i.e., collects dues, deposits fund, and requests withdrawal of funds according to TU's Student Government Association [SGA] regulations), coordinates with class treasurers the deposit and withdrawal of funds, liaison with SGA for budgetary matter, meets with the Board to report on a monthly basis the financial status of the organization, and is Chair of the Fund Raising Committee.

·           Secretary ­ Keeps a bound and an electronic record of meetings; promotes communications regarding planned activities, current events, and publicity for meeting/functions; keeps an up-to-date list of members; is liaison to MANS; and chairs the Publicity Committee.

·           Membership Recruiter ­ Coordinates/implements plans for recruitment of new members to NSA, MANS and NSNA and collaborates with the Secretary on publicity matters.

·           Breakthrough-to-Nursing Member ­Collaborates with Membership Recruiter specifically targeting underrepresented groups in nursing (i.e., males, minorities) and collaborates with the Secretary on publicity matters.

·           Newsletter Editor ­ Provides leadership for publishing the NSA Newsletter, collects and edits information submitted by students, class representatives, and faculty advisors.
