Members discussed and reviewed the redesigned website. Room 378 will be used for the general meeting on November 18. Discussed idea of sponsoring a bus to the Baltimore convention in February and helping to coordinate the department gala in May. Members finalized the list of music educators to invite on December 4. A list of eight educators was chosen from throughout the state and with varying lengths of experience.

Officers gave ideas for Music Educators to invite to our teacher panel on December 4. Members will also ask their peers and professors for other possible invites. Menu decided for "Mornings with MENC" and times members of the executive board could help out were also decided. Members of the executive board will come up with ideas for our description on the music department website.

Beginning "Mornings with MENC" was discussed including how it has been done in past, fundraising amount for chapter, etc. Date for first chapter meeting set for Tuesday November 18, 2003. Date for "Music Educators Panel" permanently changed to Thursday December 04, 2003. Rough layout for TU Chapter website presented, some changes and additions were made. Understanding that ideas for enhancement of the Music Education program at Towson would not occur overnight and that they would take some time. Idea was proposed that the target should be an upcoming freshman class to begin the new curriculum when it is developed.

Ideas presented for possible activities for the chapter to sponsor. 1) Instrument Repair Workshop - whether from an outside person, or a faculty member. 2) How to pass the Piano Proficiency Exam. 3) Tutoring for secondary instruments - furthering the development on methods instruments (including Orff instruments and vocal aspects - production and secondary languages). 4) "Town Hall" Meeting proposed and tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, 2003. (What do you want to see happen at TU?) 5) Exposure to Jazz and Vocal Jazz. Possibly a panel with Dr. Rardin and Prof. McFalls. 6) Workshops on Guitar. 7) More conducting experiences.

Brainstorming session for the school year. Develop a website. Develop parameters for an Early Field Experience Project. (Possible development of cohorts, or set parameters for more "hands-on" classroom time. Host a question and answer panel for music educators. Tentatively scheduled for Thursday, November 06, 2003. Host mock interviews. Mentoring for incoming students to the department, mainly for making schedules and adjusting to TU. ("Develop Continuous Connections") Push membership for the Fall in-service day (October 17, 2003). Fundraising ideas including: Holiday Performing (Hospitals/ Nursing Homes), Halloween activities, Malls at Holiday time, Working with various recreation and parks programs, and mock juries.
