Horn
player Gabrielle Finck teaches horn lessons and masterclasses at
Towson. She is part of the Towson University Faculty Brass Quintet and
Quintigre, the faculty woodwind quintet at Towson.
Ms. Finck also works full-time as an orchestral musician, as Associate
Principal Horn of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and as Principal
Horn of the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra. Before simultaneously holding
these posts, she was a member of the National Symphony Orchestra, the
Chicago Civic Orchestra, and performed with the Milwaukee Symphony
Orchestra and the New World Symphony in Florida. As a soloist,
Gabrielle has appeared with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the
Towson University Symphonic Band, and she has participated in the Santa
Fe Chamber Music Festival, Washington, DC's 21st Century Consort, the
Smithsonian Chamber Orchestra, and Kennedy Center Chamber music.
Ms. Finck completed her education at Boston University's College of
Fine Arts, where she studied with Eric Ruske and James Sommerville.
After receiving her bachelor's degree, she attended the Tanglewood
Music Center for two summers and also studied with another important
teacher, William Barnewitz, of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
In her spare time, Ms. Finck enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, and telling jokes.
