Christopher
Dillon was soloist with the San Luis Obispo County Symphony at the age
of 17. That same year, he attended the Music Academy of the West at
Santa Barbara, where he studied with Jerome Lowenthal.
Dr. Dillon pursued his education at the Eastman School
of Music, the Oberlin Conservatory, and the Peabody Institute. While at
Peabody, he studied with Julian Martin, Ellen Mack, and Robert
McDonald. Dr. Dillon obtained his Doctorate in Music at Peabody
Conservatory in 2002.
In addition to being a lecturer at the Peabody
Conservatory from 1999 to 2003, he has been teaching theory,
class piano and ear training at Towson University for over seven years.
An active soloist and chamber musician, Christopher Dillon is also
in demand as an accompanist. Recent performances include a
lecture-recital at the University of Texas at San Marcos, on the
correlation between light and sound in the late works of Alexander
Scriabin, and a complete performance of J. S. Bach’s Well-Tempered
Clavier Volume 2, performed from memory at Towson University. In
addition to these interests, he is also a champion of new works.
