Applicants are invited for a full time permanent staff position Vacancy # N-410-07 as a Administrative Assistant I working 40 hours per week in the MB3 program at Towson University starting immediately. Two years of experience in a clerical, office assistant, or secretarial position is required along with the ability to type at 35 wpm. The position requires a welcoming personality that provides a helpful and positive interaction with students, faculty and visitors to the MB3 office. Strong organizational skills, internet abilities, and ability to function in an active people oriented environment is essential for the successful candidate.
The position supports the MB3 program and MB3 Director in the management of this major. There are approximately 90 students in the major and the administrative assistant fields questions from these students arranges for seminars and special activities within the MB3 program, provides office and clerical support for the Director, maintains appointments, schedules, and keeps time sheets for work study in the MB3 program. The position requires strong clerical and organizational qualities, as well as positive people and phone skills as an initial point of contact for students, faculty, and community leaders. The incumbent will be expected to interact with a large variety of faculty, staff, and administrators within the University and with outside representatives of the community. Strong computer and internet skills are essential including Microsoft office programs, People Soft database, and the University Financial Record System. Initiative and problem solving skills are highly desirable. Annual salary is $26,931.
