We are requesting your assistance in identifying bright young
scientists for internships at the US Army Medical Research Institute
of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD). Dr. Jerry Robinson suggested we
contact you about our opportunity. Our laboratory conducts studies
examining pathological, biochemical, and molecular changes induced
by chemical warfare agents. We employ a multi-disciplinary approach
that includes histology, histochemistry, electron microscopy,
biochemistry, and proteomics. One full-time internship is
immediately available in our laboratory through the Oak Ridge
Institute for Science and Education (ORISE). This is a full-time
position for 1 year, renewable for up to 3 years. We are located at
Aberdeen Proving Ground in northeast Maryland.
We are committed to mentoring young scientists to advance their
educational and career goals, and will give careful consideration to
any students you recommend for this position. Additionally, there
are several other laboratories at USAMRICD that may also benefit
from your recommendations as other ORISE opportunities are available
throughout our institute.
Please feel free to disseminate the attached poster to your
students and colleagues, and encourage them to contact us if they
have any questions. Thank you for your time and consideration.

THE COMPANY
ANP
Technologies is a nano/biotechnology-based
company. ANP Tech's mission is
to develop cutting-edge
technology platforms at the nano/bio
interface and apply them in
market sectors such as
diagnostics/biodetection,
protein/drug discovery,
therapeutics, chem/bio defense,
and homeland security.
TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS
ANP Tech possesses two proven
patented technology platforms:
(a) nanomanipulation-based
biological detection devices,
and (b) nanoencapsulation-based
protein delivery systems.
Nanomanipulation: Three
commercially available products
will be fabricated through this
technology platform. These
include: (i) handheld assays for
bio-agent detection, (ii)
microarrays for the diagnosis of
disease and testing for human
exposure to known and unknown
pathogens, and (iii)
protein-based microarrays for
high-throughput discovery of new
protein targets and drug leads.
Nanoencapsulation: Our
nano-protein delivery system is
capable of safely and
cost-effectively delivering a
variety of proteins through
injection, nasal, and inhalation
methods. The technology is
proven superior to the existing
stealth liposome and
biodegradable polymer
technologies in terms of cost,
ease of formulation, long-term
protein stability, and blood
circulation time.
