Deadline: Now

Contact: Student Computing Services - 410-704-5151

Towson will communicate with you using your NetID. Your NetID provides you with access to:

  • Campus computers
  • Your Towson email account—Webmail Powered by Google
  • Network file storage and Web publishing space
  • Towson Online Services for bill payment and online to-do lists
  • Blackboard for online courses
  • Off-campus access to library databases

It is imperative that you check your Towson email account regularly for important information about
your transition to TU, including To-Do List emails and other university communications.

To activate your NetID, you will need your seven-digit TU student ID number, which is found on your
Offer of Admission letter. If you cannot locate your TU ID number, contact University Admissions, 410-
704-2113.

How to Activate Your NetID

  1. Launch your Web browser to Current Students website.
  2. Click the Account Tools link to the right side of the page to open the Account Tools page.
  3. Under the heading Student NetID (Account) Management Tools, click Activate Your NetID.
  4. Read the page.
  5. Enter the requested information. Your TU ID number is found on the Offer of Admission
letter you received with this Enrollment Contract Package.
  6. Create a password. Enter it in each of the two password boxes and then click Next.
  7. Select a security question from the question list or write a custom question. Be aware that when you enter an answer in the next step, it will be visible to onlookers; be cautious as you continue.
  8. Enter the answer to your security question in the answer box and click Next. (If you ever
forget your password, you will be able to reset it yourself by correctly answering your security
    question.)
  9. The account activation system will display your NetID and email address. (You may print this
page for future reference, but be sure not to write your password on it.)

How to Access Your Student Email Account

  1. Open http://webmail.towson.edu.
  2. Enter your NetID and password.
  3. Click Log In.

Students should check their TU email account regularly for important information from a variety of
campus departments. You may set up an automatic forward to another address if you wish. Also, be
aware that some professors require students to use the TU email account for correspondence.

If you need to change your password or have forgotten it:

  1. Launch your Web browser and open the Current Students website.
  2. Click the Account Tools link on the right side of the page to open the Account Tools page.
  3. Under the heading Student NetID (Account) Management Tools, click Change Your Password or Reset a Forgotten or Expired Password, as appropriate.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If you have difficulty activating your account, or for other technical issues, please contact the Student
Computing Services Desk at scs@towson.edu or 410-704-5151, or visit SCS’s TechOverture Online, a site designed to introduce you to Towson’s computing systems and services.
