What made you choose Towson?
“After I met Coach Frank [TU’s soccer coach] and saw the school, Towson really appealed to me."

Has your soccer coach given you any advice that you have applied not only to the sport but Tommy practices his soccer skillsalso to your academic life?
“My coach told me that if you want to excel and be a part of this family, then you need to do your part on and off the field. I am majoring in business administration, and my dream is to one day start a soccer club for kids.”

What made you decide to apply to the Honors College?
“I checked out the Honors College because I always took AP courses in high school. I like the way that the Honors College is set up. Once I was accepted into the Honors College, my honors advisor helped to set me up with my classes, and I took acting, philosophy, English, computers and microeconomics.”

What do you enjoy most about the Honors College?
“Our talks are in-depth and we top each other’s intellectual thoughts. It’s not just that we have small classes, but that the professors challenge us to think outside. The Honors College also organizes picnics and study groups and sends out a newsletter that lets you know what’s happening in the Honors College. It includes things like events, seminars, lectures and study abroad.”

Do you live in the honors residence hall that Towson offers a number of majorsthe Honors College offers to its students?
“No, I don’t. I live with my soccer teammates. Even though my soccer teammates are awesome, it would have been really great to live with my friends in honors housing.”

As an athlete, you are very busy. Is there anything that you wish you had more time for?
“I wish I had more time to play intramural sports with my friends. It’s competitive, but fun at the same time.”

You are representing Towson at the 2009 NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference this spring in Florida. Tell us more about this.

"I am honored to represent Towson University at this leadership conference. Four student-athletes were selected by the Athletics Department at TU (two males and two females) to submit applications, and the NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference chose one person per university. Representatives from more than 600 institutions across the country will attend this year's conference."

What happens at the conference?

"The four-day conference provides NCAA student-athletes, like me, with a forum to openly discuss issues that may affect them on their campuses and in their communities, while also providing them with opportunities to enhance their leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills. The conference promotes better communication among student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty and communities. I am very excited to attend and am looking forward to being able to bring back to TU all my values and knowledge gained from this unique experience."
