How does Towson help new students to adjust to the college experience?
“TU assigns each new student a First-Year adviser who helps you with classes and schedules and gets you comfortable with college life.”
What made you choose mathematics as your major?
“Math comes easily to me. My dad told me that with math, I can do whatever I want.”
How has your adviser helped you now that you have declared your major?
“I decided to major in mathematics and minor in computer science and German. I declared my major last year and TU teamed me with my college major adviser. She guides me to take the right classes and helps me prepare for graduation.”
Are you currently living on campus or off campus?
“Right now I’m living in on-campus housing in Towson Run Apartments.”
What’s the best part about living on campus?
“Living on campus doesn’t have to mean just
sticking inside your residence hall or apartment between classes. For me, on-campus life means I have an even greater chance to get involved with what happens on campus.”
What do you know about University Residence Government (URG)? Are you involved with URG?
“URG is huge! You get to campaign for office and participate in all kinds of events on campus and attend conferences in other states! As the URG treasurer, I am an active member of the URG Executive Board. I’m also an Orientation Leader again this year. It’s a pretty cool job since I get to mentor new students during move-in weekend.”
What other campus activities are you involved in?
“Aside from being URG treasurer and an Orientation Leader, I’m also a DJ on XTSR [TU’s student-run radio station]. Last semester I had my own show that featured alternative rock and college bands. In my first and second years at Towson I was also a member of the Tiger marching band.”
