Project Serve -- An optional community service event for freshman and transfer students

Project Serve is a great way to start your college career! This program allows freshman and transfer students to get involved before the fall term even begins. Participants will spend two days giving back to the Baltimore community. Past experiences have included building houses with Habitat for Humanity, volunteering at a local food bank, preparing meals at the Helping Up Mission, and helping beautify schools in Baltimore City. In addition to community service activities, there will be several team-building exercises, social activities and a celebration dinner at the end of the program.

Project Serve participants also have the opportunity to connect our residential learning community called Tigers Serving Others. This is where students live together on the same floor during the academic year and continue to learn about and participate in community service. These students begin with Project Serve and continue to participate in campus and community service experiences throughout the year. This exciting residential learning community is a partnership between the Office of Student Activities and Department of Housing and Residence Life.

Project Serve will take place August 24-26. Students who will live in university residence halls will move in early on August 24. playground

Don't miss this great opportunity to get involved and help the surrounding community. For more information about Project Serve 2011, e-mail Dirron Allen at dallen@towson.edu or call 410-704-3307.
