COUNSELORS

We recognize that guidance counselors are an integral part of the admissions process and are often the first point of contact a student has with higher education. We want to make it easier for you to share information about the opportunities that Towson University has to offer. Feel free to e-mail or call us if you have questions or need admissions materials.

Admission at Towson University is rolling, so most students have a decision within six weeks of completing the application. Help your students through the process. When you join our Admissions ListServ, we will send you monthly reports on the application status of your students. Simply click on the link above and send us an e-mail.
We encourage our students to apply online, however if you would like
to receive paper applications or copies of our other printed materials, please send an
e-mail to the link above.
Towson University is growing! As a result, we receive over 20,000 applications each year. We encourage students to apply to Towson by December 1 in order to receive the best consideration for Office of Admissions scholarships. We'll do our best to provide support and information each step of the way, ensuring that both you and your students have an easy and smooth application process.
It's quick, easy and efficient. When students apply online, errors such as misinterpreting handwriting decrease, and data is immediately uploaded into our admissions software, streamlining applications.
Admission Writing Requirements
Research has shown that a student's ability to write a first draft of a short, timed essay relates positively to the student's ability to perform successfully in college courses that require writing. Recognizing this, Towson University now requires all students applying for admission to submit writing test scores either from the new SAT I (Code 5404) or the optional ACT Writing Test (Code 1718).
SAT/ACT Scores Accepted Only Through ETS
To ensure score accuracy, we require all students submit their SAT or ACT scores through ETS. SAT or ACT scores are not accepted on official high school transcripts.
