Towson University has paperless billing for fall 2010

In order to make student bills more convenient and accessible to the campus community, the Towson Bursar’s Office will distribute all bills electronically. Here’s how the new e-bill system works:

  • Paper bills will no longer be mailed to your home.
  • When bills are ready, students will receive an e-mail in their TU accounts instructing them to view their bill at the e-bill Web site.
  • Students will be able to grant restricted access to parents, guardians, employers or other third parties to view and/or pay bills. These individuals will have access to the bills under a separate username and password.
  • Bill payments can be made online, in person at the Bursar’s Office, or through the mail.

Additional information about e-bill will be distributed to campus and posted on the Bursar’s Office Web site in the coming months.

Towson Housing and Student Services Costs

Information pertaining to housing and student services costs, fees and billing can be found on the Towson Bursar’s Web site. In addition, an estimate of expenses is shown above. Note: The Freshman Transition Program tuition rates are governed by CCBC.

Towson Payment Options

  • Cash: The Bursar’s Office Payment and Rebate Check Disbursement Center is open 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday–Friday, and is located on the third floor of the Enrollment Services Center.

  • Check: Please make checks payable to Towson University and include the student’s TU ID number on the front of the check.
  • Credit Card/Web: Beginning with the 2010 fall term, the Towson Bursar's Office WILL NOT accept in-person or mailed credit card payments. All bill payments with a credit card will be processed by a third-party credit processor with a convenience fee on the credit card amount. Discover, MasterCard and American Express credit cards can be used for fees, room, meal plans and other charges.

Web payments may also be made using a electronic transfer (ACH). To make a payment online, visit Towson Online Services; log in; click Self Service; click Student Center; under Finance click Make a Payment and continue with the payment process. If any Web payment option is selected, full payment is required.

Towson Late Fee

Bill payment must be received by the due date to avoid a late fee. A late fee of $75 will be assessed to the student’s financial account term if charges are paid after the scheduled bill payment due date, which appears on the bill.

Towson Refund Checks

If there is a credit balance after payment to CCBC tuition and TU student services, housing or other fees, the TU Bursar's Office will process a refund. Credit card refunds will be credited back to the original credit card account that was used to satisfy the term charges and will take place after the drop/add period for that term.

Important: Your Financial Responsibility at Towson

You are responsible for paying your charges by the due date.  E-mails will be sent to your TU account informing you of your bill.  It is your responsibility to access your account on a regular basis.  If you require additional information about the transition fee and room and board (if applicable), visit the Bursar Web site or call the Bursar's Office at 410-704-2100 or 1-888-5-BURSAR.
