Keren Banai receives Dr. Ned Britt, Jr. Leadership Award
TU senior receives fall 2008 service award
TOWSON, Md. (April 29, 2009)—Keren Banai of Bethesda, a TU senior majoring in
communications, was honored with the Dr. Ned Brit Jr. Leadership Award for fall 2008. The honor, named after the first director of Campus Recreation Services (who led the department
from 1972–2007), is given each academic term to a CRS student employee or volunteer has
exhibited quality service and leadership throughout their tenure of service, and who have served the department for a minimum of four terms.
The recipient serves as a role model, both as a staff person and a participant, and is the bar by which excellence in student employment is measured.
A senior who will graduate in fall 2009, Banai has worked for TU’s sport clubs for four years, including some summer break and winter break months. She serves currently as a sport club manager and an intramural referee/program assistant. Banai oversees all clubs on probation and works closely with the Men’s Rugby and Ice Hockey teams. She is in charge of allocating facility space and making agendas as well as recording monthly statistics.
After graduation Banai plans on either working for her father’s factory in Baltimore’s Canton neighborhood or traveling to Europe.
