Ms. Linda Suskie
Director of Assessment
Towson University


Linda Suskie is Director of Assessment at Towson University, near Baltimore, Maryland. Prior positions include serving as Director of the AAHE Assessment Forum at the American Association for Higher Education and as a CHE Fellow at the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Her 25 years of experience in college and university administration include work in assessment, institutional research, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.

Ms. Suskie has spoken, consulted, and presented workshops on a variety of higher education assessment topics and has been an active member of numerous professional organizations and groups. Among her publications are Assessment to Promote Deep Learning (editor) and Questionnaire Survey Research: What Works. Her latest book, Assessment of Student Learning: A Common Sense Guide, is slated for publication by Anker Publishing in early 2004.
Ms. Suskie has taught graduate courses in assessment and educational research methods and undergraduate courses in writing, statistics, and developmental mathematics. She holds a bachelor's degree in quantitative studies from Johns Hopkins University and a master's in educational measurement and statistics from the University of Iowa.
