Dr. Madhu Kishwar, editor of the journal, Manushi
Madhu Purnima Kishwar is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies. She is also the founder of Manushi Sangathan, an organisation committed to strengthening democratic rights and women’s rights in India. She is the founding editor of Manushi - A Journal About Women and Society that has been published continuously since 1978.

Dr. Aparna Basu
Dr. Aparna Basu., Ph.D. (Cambridge, UK) was Professor of History at the University of Delhi. She has also served as President, and is currently Patron of the All India Women's Conference. She is the author of several books and articles on women's history and women's education including Women's Struggle: History of AIWC, and From Independence Towards Freedom, Indian Women since 1947. She is on the Editorial Board of Indian Journal of Gender Studies and Indian Economic & Social History Review.

Dr. Malashri Lal
Dr. Malashri Lal is a Professor in the Department of English. She has also served as the Director of the Women’s Studies & Development Centre of the same University, and guided teaching and research, documentation, gender sensitization, and faculty enrichment programmes. With a specialisation in literary studies, Malashri Lal has written and lectured extensively on women’s socio-cultural positioning and women’s writing. As a recipient of several fellowships from the Fulbright, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Shastri-Indo Canadian Institute and the British Council, she has conducted research in prestigious institutions including Harvard University, USA, and Bellagio, Italy. Malashri Lal has authored The Law of the Threshold: Women Writers in Indian English (1995, reprinted 2000),and co edited Interpreting Homes in South Asian Literature ( 2007)
Dr. Aruna Chakravarti
Aruna Chakravarti is a well known academic, writer and translator. Prominent among her many publications are her translations of Saratchandra Chattopadhyay’s Srikanta and Sunil Gangopadhyay’s Those days and its sequel First Light, published by Penguin Books India in 1993, 1997, and 2001 respectively. She is the recipient of several awards, among them the Vaitalik Award, the Sahitya Akademi Award and the Sarat Puraskar. Her first novel The Inheritors was published by Penguin Books India to critical acclaim and was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize 2004. Her last book The Way Home came out in 2006.

The Girl Child
Dr. Nilima Srivastava, Women's Studies & Development Centre,

Dr. Nilima Srivastava is a trained social worker. At the Women’s Studies and Development Centre, University of Delhi, she heads a research project on the Girl Child carried out in collaboration with five other institutions in north India. Her areas of specialization are women and work, and child welfare. Publications include the book Women on the Path of Progress (a study of decadal change in role conflict among women professionals) and several papers.

Ms. Meenu Anand at the Women's Studies & Development Centre, University of Delhi, organizes and teaches a postgraduate Study Seminar on 'Gender and Society' and handles research areas relating to Education and Development. She also conducts capacity building workshops and gender sensitization training programs for school teachers, journalists, police personnel, and has worked with several NGOs. Her popular articles in journals seek to bring gender awareness within interdisciplinary frameworks.
