Dashboard Indicators
Developed by the USM staff to monitor the progress of the University Maryland System and it's individual
institutions. The indicators chosen are relevant to core operations and draw upon existing indicators
(MFR, peer performance, and other accountability reporting systems). Performance indicators include

Peer Performance
A peer based model adopted by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) in September 1999. The
guidelines are designed to identify peer institutions by providing both a funding standard and a basis
for comparison between institutions. These "funding peers" are then compared to Maryland institutions
to inform resource questions and assess performance.
