Summer Closing Frequently Asked Questions
What do I do if I am not taking a summer class or returning to Towson in the fall semester?
You must vacate your room by the regular closing date, Tuesday, May 23, 2006 by 8pm or you will be charged additional fees.
What if my flight is leaving after regular closing, Tuesday, May 23, 2006?
If your flight is leaving after the regular date of closing and you are not returning for fall 2006 to Residence Tower, you must vacate the building by the regular closing date or you will be charged. Please make other arrangements to stay with a friend or in a hotel.
Can I leave my stuff here over break?
Only students who are returning to the same room for the fall semester are allowed to leave their belongings here over the break.
Can I stay over summer break?
Only students who are returning to the Residence Tower for the fall semester 2006 or taking a summer class are permitted to stay in their room.
How do I register to stay over summer break?
All students who are planning to stay here over the summer break, are traveling and stopping by for short periods of time or are returning early before the regular move in date (August 25, 2006), must fill out a break registration form available at the front desk and return it by May 15, 2006. Failure to do so will result in your entrance card being deactivated.
What if I’m traveling for most of the summer and only staying in RT for a few days at a time?
If you are staying in RT for any part of the summer or returning early you must fill out a break registration form available at the front desk and return it by May 15, 2006. Failure to do so will result in your entrance card being deactivated. You must also turn in your keys before you leave and pick them up again when you return.
What if I’m leaving for the summer and returning early before August 25, 2006
If you are traveling and stopping by for short periods of time or are returning early before the regular move in date (August 25, 2006), you must fill out a break registration form available at the front desk and return it by May 15, 2006. Failure to do so will result in your entrance card being deactivated. You must also turn in your keys before you leave and pick them up again when you return.
How much does it cost to live here during the break?
If you are here during summer you will be charged $125 a week starting on May 29. If you stay the entire time ( May 23 – August 18) you will be charged for 12 weeks a total of $1,500. For those in a single room you will be charged $150 a week for 12 weeks, a total of $1,800.
