Message from Dr. H. George Hahn II, Program Director

Dear Prospective Master of Arts:

I am pleased to introduce Towson University’s brand new master’s degree program in the humanities to you. Begun in 2002, it’s an exciting program designed for people who want close intellectual engagement with great works of literature, philosophy, religion, and history and the opportunity to debate them with others. A main aim is to cultivate the generalist approach from a historical base so often lacking and needed in a specialized society. The program is ideal for the traditional college graduate of any major who wants focused and intensive study and for teachers who want closer engagement and sophisticated discussion in the subject matter of their disciplines.

Applications are accepted on a rolling admissions basis.

If you'd like to learn more after reading the description of the program that follows, please telephone me with any questions at 410 -704-5198 or E-mail me at ghahn@towson.edu. I'll be happy to talk with you.
