Single Rooms

All students are eligible to apply for a single room, however, priority for singles is given to current students and there is no guarantee of availability. |
Honors
Housing

The Honors College is for students who exhibit extraordinary academic success and who strive to constantly challenge themselves in their educational pursuits. Honors Housing is dedicated to students admitted to the Honors College who want a living environment that will help them pursue their academic goals. Living in Honors Housing has several advantages including a strong student community, access to in-hall classroom space, and an atmosphere conducive to study. You may mark this as a choice if you applied to the Honors College but have not heard about whether you are admitted. This community is in partnership with the Honors College and Housing & Residence Life.

While Towson is committed to creating communities that encourage positive choices, we also offer additional experiences specifically for students who choose to live a life free of alcohol, regardless of age. With this housing option residents will receive education and peer support for responsible living as well as have the opportunity to help promote alcohol-free living to other Towson students. Students assigned to this community must be committed to living an alcohol-free lifestyle.

Global Village

- Live within an integrated floor of domestic and international students
- Be a part of special programs including International Café and Around the World in 13 Floors
- More kitchen space than the average Towson University residence hall
Global Village is a community for both domestic and international students attending Towson University. Students living in this community will have the opportunity to interact with people from different cultures and countries in a variety of ways including special annual events, international roommate, and programming. These communities also benefit from the amount of kitchen space available, which exceeds other traditional residence halls on campus. This community is in partnership with the International Student & Scholar Office and Housing & Residence Life.

Science Scholars Community

Science Scholars Community i s a residential living-learning experience for students majoring in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. Students in this community will enjoy greater exposure to faculty in these fields, related student clubs, and departmental events. In the Science Scholars Community, students are able to learn from and socialize with students in their field while living in a supportive and encouraging environment that is highly conducive to academic success . This community is in partnership with the Department of Astronomy, Geosciences & Physics and Housing & Residence Life.

Tigers Serving
Others

The Tigers Serving Others Community is a living-learning experience for students dedicated to making a change in their communities. Students who are enthusiastic about being a part of the growing student service movement can opt to live in this community, where learning about and exploring the concept of service is infused into the everyday living and learning experiences of college life. Residents will have the opportunity to kick off the year by moving in three days early to participate in Project Serve. Throughout the school year community members will continue to be encouraged to participate in campus and community service experiences. Team-building exercises and social activities will help students to foster a sense of community and belonging here at Towson. This community is in partnership with the Office of Student Activities and Housing & Residence Life.

STEM Community

- For both TOPS scholars and majors in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
- Designed to enhance student interest and success in STEM majors
- Access to TOPS academic resources to for all community members
- Specialized floor programming centering on STEM topics and activities
The STEM Community houses both TOPS scholars and students who are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. The purpose of the community is to encourage and support students’ interest in the sciences and its related fields. Students within this community will gain access to additional academic resources for exploring career options and for establishing a solid foundation within a STEM major. The community also benefits from having returning residents who serve as mentors to new students. This community is in partnership with Towson Opportunities in STEM (TOPS) and Housing & Residence Life.

Gender Neutral Housing

- A welcoming housing space for all students
- Students of any gender may choose this option
Gender Neutral Housing is a housing option developed to provide a welcoming space for all students. This housing option is available within designated living areas for first year, transferring, and returning students of any gender to choose to live together in rooms or apartments. Students who select this housing option must sign an agreement of understanding for Gender Neutral Housing in order to finalize their interest. First year (freshman) students who indicate an interest in Gender Neutral Housing will be assigned within university housing*. This housing option is offered based on availability and the student's eligibility for on-campus housing (i.e. students must be eligible for on-campus housing and meet all deadlines for submission of the housing deposit and housing contract). Housing assignments are considered based on individual needs, preferences, and space availability. * This housing option may be located in a premium housing rate facility.

Housing Options for Transfers
Single Rooms

Towson Run
Apartments
|
Towson Run Apartments consist of one-bedroom, two-bedroom and four-bedroom apartments, which house two students per bedroom (occupancy of 418 students). Each apartment includes the following:
- Fully furnished (including wall-to-wall carpet and curtains)
- A large combination living-room/dining-room
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Includes all utilities (including Cable TV, and local telephone - a separate phone line in each bedroom)
Located in Towson Run Apartments complex you will find:
- Large and small meeting and study rooms
- A large laundry room
- A full-service mini mart, TRAX
- Mailboxes in the lobby for each apartment
This building is secured twenty-four hours a day with a card access system used by students to gain entry to the building and elevators.

Smoke-Free Campus - Smoking is prohibited on all property owned, leased or operated by Towson University (“University”). This consists of all buildings, including residence halls, Bateman’s, and the Marriott; all grounds, including exterior open spaces, parking lots and garages, on-campus sidewalks, streets, driveways, stadiums, recreational spaces and practice facilities; and in all University-owned or leased vehicles.
