Graduate Assistant
The Department of Housing & Residence Life offers a limited number of graduate assistantships each year to
qualified students. Students apply for assistantships for a period of either 10 or 12 months, full-time (20 hours per week).
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must:
- Have obtained a BA/BS degree
- Have applied and been admitted to a master's degree program with Towson University
- Be in good academic standing and maintain a minimum semester grade point average of 3.0 in all courses taken for graduate credit during the assistantship
- Register for degree hours during every semester of the assistantship (Full-time assistants register for a minimum of six hours)
- Possess housing or human service related experience
Compensation
Each positions may have a slight difference in compensation:
- The Assistant Coordinator is a 10 month, live-in position
with furnished apartment, tuition remission and meal plan, as well as
a stipend.
- The Graduate Administrative Assistant is a 12 month, live-out position.
Tuition remission and a stipend are provided.
- The Graduate Assistant for International Housing & ISSO is a 10
month, live-out position. Tuition remission and a stipend are provided.
These positions are a renewable graduate assistantships with an expected two-year commitment.
Deadlines
