During this past semester, I have eaten lunch at Hillel 2 – 3 times per
week which has been instrumental in helping me to establish friendships. I have
also attended at least half of the Shabbats as well as other activities such as
Howl at the Moon and the play.
I want to be on the Hillel board because it will help me further develop my
leadership skills. I also have a strong belief as to the great impact informal
education can have on someone’s life.
I have had prior experiences as my USY chapter’s SA/TO VP and President. I am
also a member of APO. Being social action chair will allow my strong internal
drive to help people shine. My ability to brainstorm new and exciting ideas is
also one of my biggest strengths and will help revive our service activities.
I hope to increase hillel’s service involvement through a greater mix of both on
and off campus service opportunities. Being a member of hillel means more than
just having fun. I would like hillel to become a model for the rest of the
campus.
