Please write a paragraph response to the following questions. All responses will be posted on the web:

1) Describe your involvement with Hillel.

I was first introduced to the Hillel of Towson from a high school friend. Though it took a  couple of weeks of meeting many of the “regulars” of Hillel I began becoming conferrable around the Hillel and started joining in some programs.  I came to a couple Shabbat dinners at Towson as well as the crazy Shabbat at Dov’s in my first semesters, all which were fascinating and educational.  Soon I found my self deeply involved in FYSH and coming to the Hillel every day.  Whether it be coffee with Stephanie or unique camping trips my first year with Hillel has been memorable and enlightening.

2) Why do you want to be on the Hillel board?

I believe many of my ideas would benefit Hillel.  But more importantly then that standard answer I believe my presence could be an advantage to the Hillel board. Since I am a Baltimore community member, my hope is I can connect our Hillel and Baltimore community in a more intimate way.  This would obviously by a sub-post to my very important responsibilities as the treasurer.

3) Why do you feel you would be good for the position that you are running for?

The position I am running for is treasurer.  The Treasurers duties include organizing fundraisers that meet the requirements of SGA, prepare Spring and Fall budgets, and Handle financial transactions as needed. Being that I am an accounting major these are similar tasks which I work on in my classes.  The accounting and economic courses I have taken deal with the most efficient way to tackle what would be expected of me as the Hillel treasurer.

4) What do you hope to accomplish during your year on the Hillel board?

Here is where many make promises they can or do not intend to keep.  I truthfully can not tell what I will be able to do with budget or any other funds.  I do have many great ideas and with my background in non-profit organizations, I wish to do the best with funds allocated to and raised for Hillel.

5) Describe previous programming experience that you have had with Hillel.

Being a freshmen getting involved in programming would be abnormal, however I did stick my nose where it did not belong a few times and threw in my two cents.  I did help with setting up an excel program to review the finances of the FYSH camping trip. I don’t know if driving counts as “programming” but I have drove people to and from many events.  As the treasurer I hope to do more then just these few petty things, but as the saying goes “every little thing counts.”
