Personal Interests

Married and father of five. Loves the challenge of stretching the minds of students to alternative thinking … and helping to change B.S. into a functional Belief System. Believes that one’s spiritual connection is the force that weaves the variety of human threads together…without which the fabric of life frays or unravels. Loves a life of diversity.

Enjoys experimental vegetable gardening (particularly with sweetpotato varieties) using lots of natural fertilizers -- rotted horse manure. Currently developing after-harvest sweetpotato-based foods for the marketplace. See www.friendsofsweetpotatoes.org.

Jogs, swims, power-walks and does resistance activities for fitness and fatness control. Certified Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor and runs a swimming pool during the summers at the farm. Does digital photography, computers, technology and woodworking to unwind. Enjoys hiking, camping, creative cooking and baking; playing (at) the guitar and writing health related and spiritual songs. Active in a local church. Leads a Men’s group bible study.

Lives with wife and a few of the adult children on their 66-acre Wellness Farm in Stewartstown, PA. Currently working on a pick-you-own-phytochemical crop of blueberries, red and black raspberries, thorn-less blackberries, goji berries, asparagus, and sweetpotatoes. See www.pasweetpotatofestival.com
