Internship Meeting Dates for Prospective HCMN Spring '09 Interns

Many prospective internship sites will participate in the Professional Networking Meeting. All students contemplating an internship (especially during Spring ’09) are strongly encouraged to attend this event.

Students anticipating a spring ’09 internship must attend either one of the above sessions. Prior to attending the preinternship meeting, students must have met with their faculty advisor to obtain and review their Departmental Progress Report (DPR).
To participate in the preinternship meeting (a) students must bring with them their Departmental Progress Report (DPR) and a note from their faculty advisor (preferably written directly on the DPR) establishing that the student is eligible for internship upon completion of courses in which s/he is currently enrolled. These materials will be obtained from the faculty advisor at the meeting arranged by the student prior to the preinternship session; and (b) students must review – before the preinternship meeting – the list of internship sites available online at the Department website at http://www.towson.edu/healthscience/healthcare/internship/internshipsites.asp and bring with them a list of their top three choices. Students on probation are NOT permitted to participate in a community health internship.
Students who do not fulfill both requirements will not be guaranteed internship placement for the term requested.
Note: All due dates are ‘no later than’; early reply/submission is encouraged.

to inform them of tentative placement

Professor Casciani authorizes (by email) contact for interview 14 Oct, 12 noon
Student interviews 14 Oct – 4 Nov
Completed Internship Interview Form to Professor Casciani 11 Nov, 12 noon
Students will receive permits for registration from Professor Casciani only after submitting their completed Interview Form.
Inform Professor Casciani of any failing class performance 15 Dec, 12 noon
Spring ‘09 internship begins first day, spring semester
