Applied Gerontology Graduate Student selected as January '09 Commencement Speaker

Based on the recommendation made by Dr. Donna Wagner and a committee of the College of Health Professions, the Graduate College selected Nicole Sheehan as the graduate student speaker for the mid year morning Commencement ceremony.

Nicole Sheehan, graduate of Applied Gerontology Graduate Program"My experience in the Applied Gerontology Graduate program has allowed me to grow as a critical thinker and become a more confident individual.  I currently work as a center director for a senior center within the Baltimore County Department of Aging, consisting of approximately 1700 members.  By applying what I have learned in the classroom to my everyday work experiences, I am able to offer more appropriate and successful programs and services to the seniors at the center.  My future goal is to find employment at the national level with an organization providing much needed resources for the growing senior population.  But in the meantime, I will continue to grow within the Baltimore County Department of Aging."
