Areas of Professional Interest
I love focusing students on the importance of exercise and proper nutrition. Hands-on time in the gym allows me to work closely with them as they master technique and motivation. One of my favorite projects is the dietary analysis. It's an eye-popper on what students are really eating each day. Each semester we are supervised/stunned/alarmed at the results of our three-to-five day food intake recall. It's enlightening to talk about what impact these results have on both short-term and long-term health. A guide to healthy college eating and a dorm-room cookbook, as well as forming a running club----with a focus on nutrition--- are two projects I would like to initiate here at Towson.
