The field of health science bridges the gap between scientific discoveries and the application of this knowledge to improve the quality of life.

The Department of Health Science offers undergraduate degree programs in health science, with concentrations in community health and/or school health.

The Department contributes to the focus of the comprehensive university through its provision of multi-disciplinary content, facilitation of students’ certification in relevant professions and professional organizations, and exposure of its students to issues addressed within health science, health care management and the aging population.

Several graduate programs are available, including the Master of Science degree in health science with concentrations in administration, community health education and school health education.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) offers multiple policy levers for improving patient care and maximizing health outcomes, in part by expanding the opportunities for health education specialists to contribute to the goals of prevention, screening and treatment
